I saw that the other day. I feel like they are going to either film in Aledo or something like that for no particular reason. Maybe they'll do the generic shots here, but I doubt much more than that.

From the Frisco Mayor-

Lights, camera, action! There has been a lot of buzz since last weeks announcement of Frisco King, the new spinoff from hit show Tulsa King and starring Samuel L. Jackson and written by Taylor Sheridan. We had the opportunity to learn more this morning meeting with the show producers. The first 3 episodes have been written and they start filming later this month. Much of the daily filming will be done in Ft Worth but they estimated they will need 1-2 days for each episode in Frisco, on top of the b roll for the City they will capture upfront. So you will be seeing them around town fairly often over the coming months.

The premise of the show is a "fish out water" comedy where Jackson's character gives up his NOLA roots and to start a fresh life in a "modern day Mayberry" and the Stallone character tells his it needs to be Frisco…San Francisco? No Frisco, Tx and here's your golf polo to fit in.

They did joke nobody knows the direction the script will take until Taylor writes it…even Taylor. They did say they would be portraying in a positive light and Frisco is one of the "characters" in the show that the community will be proud of.

Generally 70% of their casts are locals and they agreed to have a separate talent page for Frisco residents looking for their big break it just a background cameo. They also mentioned they love hiring veterans as talent. We will share more in the future as we become aware of these opportunities.

We welcome the entire Frisco King team to our community and look forward to them showing it off through their lens!

I'm starting to think this might not be a joke.

Maybe Sheridan recently watched the Steve Martin classic "My Blue Heaven" or something?
