We aren't sure if the ex was alerted to the attack on the mother on July 3rd. New information continues to come out. According to court records, this guy has a rap sheet with other cases of domestic violence.

Stephen worked at one of the branches in my company and was a great guy. His wife was another employee's sister. Tragic event for a family full of great kind hearted people. Keep them all in your thoughts and prayers please.

One of my employees has a child that goes to school with the surviving daughter and lives right down the street. This is just so incredibly tragic.

^IIRC the original goal was $100k when I first looked at it yesterday (they had collected roughly $36k at that point). It's great that they have almost hit that mark and have increased the goal. People are truly helping out.

UTTER SHOCKED, IN AWE & IN TEARS!!!

We just broke $106,000 this morning at 0840, only about 20 hours after the site was created. This incredible outpouring has already brought this ole, rough, retired Navy Chief to tears! I cannot express how proud and excited I am to be a part of such an awesome show of love that this site has become!

We are going to continue the site for a few weeks. Original goal was 10K, the 40K, then 100K. Last night I raised the goal to 150K. I would absolutely LOVE to see this run to about $250K. This will DEFINITELY be an enormous help to 15 year old Cassidy and the family as they sort through in the near future.

I know I've asked several of you that are close to keep things quiet and private, thank you. Due to media coverage that is not allowing much privacy, I feel impressed to quickly summarize what has happened the last 24 hours.
Last night we received word that my sister and her family, with the exception of one daughter, were killed in their home in Texas. The suspect then headed to the homes of other family members in the area, presumably with the intent to kill everyone at those residences. To be clear - the suspect was formerly related to one of my family members, but is not related to us at this time and is not the parent or guardian of any of the victims (as reported in the media). The surviving daughter ran to a neighbor's house as soon as she felt safe, where she called authorities and provided information that led to police interception of the suspect between her house and the next. I think some of you know that authorities then apprehended him in the long standoff everyone got to witness on television.
Without the grace of God in sparing the life of my very brave 15-year old niece, there could have been a dozen or more victims and the suspect may not be in custody. We commend her, I count her a hero and we are grateful to have everyone else with us today. Please pray for her as much or more than the rest of us - she is in a difficult situation. To be clear about her injuries - she is not in critical condition, she is very stable and we expect her to fully recover (physically) soon.
Overall - we are stunned and disgusted by the suspect's actions, but overcome with gratitude for my dear niece and everything that has gone right since the incident. We appreciate everyone's kind words, thoughts and prayers; please excuse us for not responding to everyone or answering all of the phone calls. We cannot thank you enough for the support that is flowing in - please continue to pray!

The whole situation is just so sad and horrific. Thank goodness for that brave little girl who after being shot and watching others being executed had the guts and willpower to go to the neighbor's house to call 911 or there could have been several other people murdered.

Court records show that on June 27, Cornelio issued a bench warrant for Haskell to appear in her courtroom a month later at midnight.

Oh wow! I hadn't heard this story before! We moved to the neighborhood about a mile west of there a year after it happened.

Even 9 years ago when we bought this house, we felt it was a pretty good area. Ever since COVID it's going downhill fast. Our property values have skyrocketed in this subdivision, but somehow more and more trashy people keep moving in and I can't figure out how they can afford it.

Which neighborhood? We left Terranova West a year ago.

We're north of the creek, thankfully. It's basically our backyard, then greenbelt, then creek.
