So you can RENT a week in July/August for $299 ($43 per night) but bluecatag thinks it's a better idea to buy one for $4000 and pay $900 every two years to use one week in those 2 years...

$299

This must be some badass resort for $43 per night.

David_Putz, you miserable little fuc. I sit here on the balcony of my Traditions condo, that has appreciated by 30% in 2 years BTW, in the promised land drinking fine scotch and smoking a good cigar and your obsessed with someone who don't even know spending $400/yr in timeshare fees. I would tell you to get a life but that doesn't do it justice.

Such a weird deal... Classifieds the dude is upping his asking price and asking for football tickets thrown in to sell... then in this thread, he's giving football tickets away if you buy the time share then transfers outlook to 'I'm rich ***** guy and wipe my ass with $400'

All of this too from a guy who insults and writes like a 15 year-old and supposedly has grown kids...

Just so freaking strange... I can't look away. Bluecatag is officially the most interesting person on Texags... and I think an incredibly elaborate and executed troll.

Yeah, but at least he's not asking for anything or trying to sell something. Because that wouldn't really help, now would it? Oh, wait...

Is it time to put this thread up there with Lunch Teeth Brushers, Handicapped Lezzys, and The Czars Guide to the Tine?

Back in 1989ish, the wife and I bought property in the Pine Forest development in Bastrop and with that, we got a "free" ten year timeshare, through RCI, just pay the maintenance fees. The fees were about $250 for the week and we traded them every year, just paying transfer fees or whatever. We went to WD World twice, steamboat once and traded for Walden on Lake Conroe the remaining years.

Several times I took three golf buddy's for a week of golf at Walden and other years the wife went. Staying at Walden gave me access to the golf course, I only paid for a cart, unless we walked. My buddies paid green fees as well as cart fees. We would tee off around 8 a.m., walking 18, so the four of us paid for three fees, split four ways. Our green fees were good for all day, so we'd go back to the condo and chill, then Tee off again about four, walking another 18. We did this the first five days, then rode the second round the last couple of days. By the time we split condo fees, golf fees and food for the week, it was a great week of golf on a great course dirt cheap. I loved the timeshare, and hated when it ran out.

More recently, the wife and I went to the Falls at New Ulm for a presentation on their timeshare. We spent the night before for free, played golf the next day (paid fee and cart fee), then went to the presentation. We did not buy and had no plans to.

We got a gift certificate for one week cruise on Carnival out of Galveston. I called Spirit Prizes and gave them three weeks we were available for travel. Of course, they were booked those weeks so we were SOL! Soo, next day I called back and spoke to a "supervisor". I told them Randolph Duke was my personal attorney and I thought they were scamming people and were going to report them to the Florida BBB. Well apparently Randi has some stroke, because they miraculously found an open spot for one of my weeks.

With taxes and fees and an upgrade I requested, our total cost was around $600 for the week for the two of us. Being experienced cruisers, we knew that room would have normally cost us $2000 for the week, plus tips. I then called and booked the following week on my dime, same stateroom and everything. The first week, we went to Key West, Nassau and Freeport. The next weeks was Cozumel, Caymans and Belize if I recall. Say what you want about the timeshare sales pitch scams, but it has worked out twice for me!

Well if you are calling me a sip troll, I've been in Manchurian Candidate mode for many, many years, damn I'm good! Since I have been here and a paying member since Oct 10, 1999, I have kept my sipness very well hidden! The Randolph Duke line was a joke, sorry it went so far over your head. Every thing else in that post was true BTW.....

You'd have to pay me about $5k to take a Carnival Cruise. The Golden Corral of the sea.
