Is the most Houston/Thoed/Tine show ever created lol.

"While his character is in immigration limbo, he can't legally work. He has no papers. So he resorts to working under the table and hawking knock-off luxury goods to support his family. Then he ends up getting addicted to codeine after he has to be treated for a gunshot wound at a tattoo parlor because he doesn't have health insurance."

I enjoyed the first episode! The scene at the grocery store was filmed at the Food Town down the road from my hood! Been fun seeing places I've been and I loved the Mattress Mack commercial playing in the background in one scene.

Wife and I rolled through all 8 eps in 2 nights. We loved it, and loved how there were a few tidbits spoken that only Houstonians would get. Though not official, It's pretty much a guarantee it'll get a 2nd season.

That looked like the cleanest Food Town I've ever seen.....and yt people aren't shooting up Food Towns, but that wouldn't fit their narrative.

I think you're missing the point. It's a comedy filmed in Houston, by a Houstonian comedian. Not every thing has to be political.

What's crazy is every movie or TV show I see Galveston in I'm like, "Man that looks nice". Then I remember I live 20 minutes from there, and rarely go across that bridge because I know what it's really like.

As a former Alief resident, I've been to most of the spots that they filmed.

But I do question some of the drive times. No way to make the drive from Galveston to 'lief in like 20 minutes.

Oh and one tiny mistake I thought of today.

When he mentions going to fun plex for the street fighter tourney, his buddy said it wrong.

Should be Fame City, not Funplex. 1991 was still Fame City.

In a Charger hellcat with paper tags and handicap placard, you could prob do it in 30min from 61st and 45. Depending on what strain you are greenhousing with.

I've read here it's 20 minutes to downtown from any suburb neighborhood, so guessing 25 minutes from Alief to Galveston.

Y'all clearly never watched 24. Jack Bauer never had an issue getting around L.A.

The funniest part about that trip is the filming scenes are about 1.5 miles from each other. The Galveston house is actually on Heights between 14th and 15th and the Chick-n-Cone is at 20th and Shepherd. I'm guessing the Little League field is near that as well.

I think the Fun Plex scene was shot at the iT'Z Family Food & Fun on 249.
Also, Maria's house scenes were shot on my street in Spring Branch.

Chick N Cone is closed. They got locked out by their landlord for unpaid rent on May 3rd. The store is 100% empty. Talk about ****ty timing, they get some pub on this show and fold before the episodes even air.

I can get to 290/610 from Cypress in 25 minutes going 80mph in the middle of the night (if the wind is behind me).
