Shot in the dark here. Does anyone have any recommendations for a professional level wedding band that can play country music really well - preferably with at least a sprinkling of Texas country in there - but will also do some of your "party music" favorites from pop/classic rock/rap genres?

Unfortunately TUB is booked already on our date (October 12).

(Cross-posting with Aggieland board, as I live in College Station but the wedding is in-between.)

if someone is going to pay for the emotions they might as well just pay for a karaoke singer. The emotions literally don't even play their instruments. It is all tracked.

Honestly, haven't seen them perform in awhile. I went to HS with Mark Hybner's kids. Only reason I suggested them. Know they still play the Shiner Church Picnics too.

Song list looks pretty good. I wouldn't mind some light backing tracks in a cover type band (light organ, fill guitar, etc.) but if the whole thing is truly tracked that would be problem. Most of the guests probably wouldn't notice, but that would bug the heck out of me (I played in a band for four years).

besides the drums and some* of the lead guitar everything is basically tracked. they dont even have a bass player

We used Horizon Band out of Houston. Although this was 5 years ago so not sure if they're still around. I think you can find them on Instagram but most of the posts seem older. Might try messaging them there. They were good.

Yep they've played our HLSR committee party the last two years and I'm sure will be again this year.

If I still had my band together I'd put my name in the hat. Used to play weddings and did alot of country/Texas county with some classics thrown in to get the old women dancing.

The gypsies had no homes, and The Doors had no bass.

Nah son….i went to high school in El Campo. New Taiton was 15-20 minutes away. The furthest we'd ever go was a 35-40 minute trek to East Bernard's dance hall.

The gal that owns the place where I get my hair cut is from El Campo. Betting you know her.

Guy I played in a band with in high school was in Emotions for a couple years in the 90's. They definitely played all of their instruments then.

Yes. The band name has been around for like 40+ years. They just keep replacing people. None of the members are originals.

Happened to be in SPI this past weekend and a band was covering pretty dang well. Brody Rivers band. I was impressed with the Texas country selection and balance with some older classics too. Not sure if they play farther north tho, but fyi.

not true. Calvin who plays keyboards has been there from the start. And if he wasn't an original I know for a fact he's been with them for 30+ years.

It is what happens when your from Austin County and play music along with my father in the region for over 50 years. You know people.

They are C league for sure now, but in the 80's and 90's they were damn good for what they did.

The friend of mine that was in the band in the 90's is the guy that replaced David Kersh when he left the band to go to Nashville.

Troy and Suzanne were singers in Emotions at the time and they sang "From This Moment" at his wedding and then hightailed it out of their before the vows were even exchanged to get over to whatever town they were performing in that night.

Going to a wedding which you probably dont' want to go to in the first place then listen to band singing about how they miss Texas sounds awful.
