Looking at 22x16 concrete patio to be poured in NE Houston. Any recommendations on contractor? Also what is going rate for a job that size?

I would hire Daniel again - I've had 2 concrete guys and he was by far better

My guess is your somewhere between 6-8k but depends on footers and likely ease of form up, dirt removal, etc

I just replaced my driveway and back patio last week. We have a weird shaped lot and a big back patio so it was ~1500SF of concrete removed and replaced. We paid just under $6/SF. Other quote I got was close to $11/SF. You'd probably be somewhere in the middle given that it's a smaller job.

Crew we used was Delarosa Concrete & Stamping 832-498-7441. Daisy was the contact for getting a quote and Roberto handled the work. I give them good marks for the concrete work. Finished product looks great but the demo wrecked my yard pretty good(comes with the territory when they are carting concrete back and forth with a mud buggy and bobcat) and they could have done a better job trying to keep stuff clean and cleaning up when they were done. They also cracked one of my irrigation pipes but I'll take the headache of a few repairs a little extra cleaning vs paying 50% more to the other crew lol. Your calculus may differ if you have a garden you put lots of work into right next to the patio.

I used AB Concrete and they did a great job. Dudes were on hands and knees after cleaning up, really went the extra mile.

I just got a quote for my new driveway. Any thoughts, other than my looming inability to buy anything to park on it?

1041 ft^2 of demolition at $3.60/^ft
1550 ft^2 of new concrete, 4", with 3# rebar (and polypropylene fibers) at $7.99/^ft

~$16,150 total

I guess I'll do the other 3/4 of it some other time...
94chem,
That, sir, was the greatest post in the history of TexAgs. I salute you. -- Dough
