RIP to Gene Peterson one of the greatest broadcaster in sports history. After every Rockets win he would say “ how sweet it is” and it was nothing better than to hear that back in the day.

Great era of NBA basketball and for the Rockets. Geno was the perfect voice for the Rockets. RIP. How sweet it is.

A hopeless homer, but he was our homer.

My favorite memory of Gene was when I was 9 or 10 years old at Compaq Center and seeing Gene rip a heater postgame in the tunnel regularly. We are good friends with Calvin Murphy and I was spoiled as a child during the Steve Francis/Cuttino era getting to sit courtside for whatever game my Dad and I wanted since attendance was so low. But without fail postgame, Gene would be ripping a cig in the tunnel and was always willing to chat even during his smokes.

My first memories of Rockets basketball revolve around Gene's calls. RIP legend.

Gene was a legend. Him and Milo will always be the voice of Houston Rockets and Astros

Its crazy just how much better The Summit was. I get that Toyota Center has more amenities for companies to spend cash on to take clients and guests out. But for the average fan, The Summit was perfect. The upper deck didn't feel like a world away. The one point I'll give Toyota Center an advantage on is if I find myself with access to the club concourse, it is nice to be able to run up there and still see or hear the event without having to wander the main concourse. But that is still only a perk available if you spring the extra cash or get someone else to pay up.
