My Dad lives in Houston, is 93 and craves watching the Astros, SECN, Golf Channel, Fox News, Fox Business and a couple of others. But apparently, there are limited options given the Space City Sports Channel which carries the Astros is not available on YouTube, which he prefers. So, he may have to get two services but prefers the least amount required to be spent. (He just canceled Comcast XFinity)

Anyone have any suggestions for a single option? If not, then which two streaming providers would get what he wants - preferably less than $100/mo total.

My dad is a few years behind your dad, and just does DirecTV because he's not messing around with all that streaming stuff. Using multiple streaming services requires more steps than he is willing to take.

If you're not in Houston and are shopping for your dad, you're looking for a package that includes "Space City Home Network" for the bulk of Astros (and Rockets) games.

I think the "Choice" package is the cheapest DirecTV pack that includes it, but I think their donkey ass site is running on a 56k modem right now, so it might take you a few minutes to shop that for current deals.

DirecTV Stream with the sports package will get you all of ghat. It's very easy to use and navigate and they even have a sports app to help you find any sport that's on. I'm sure most apps do this - but can also make a custom "guide" with favorited channels so if he's just going to watch those couple channels you listed, they can be made very easy to find.

Only drawback to DirecTV Stream is that it doesn't work on all smart TVs. Fubo seems to be more universally accepted.
