Looking at shooting shotguns with my BIL next weekend. I'll be traveling in from San Antonio. He lives in Spring Branch area. We will be staying in Cyprus with the in laws. Are there any shotgun ranges within 45 minutes of those areas? I did some searching on google maps, and the only ranges that popped up were indoor ranges. I did find Westside Sporting Goods, north Katy area. Is that my best bet? It was still almost an hour away for both of us.

Maybe I'm spoiled in San Antonio. We have shotgun shooting on every side of town and even one 10 minutes from downtown that's operated by parks and rec (is shockingly good for a city-run establishment).

It's not northwest but American Shooting Center it's probably in your 45 drive time.

Hot Wells used to be right there in 290 but they closed

Carters Country has a skeet range but it is East of 45

There is one in brookshire and MO city, but I believe they are both private clubs

I've shot several tournaments at American Shooting Center and its pretty nice. There is a shotgun range in Conroe that is nice, but a bit of drive from Cypress.

West side is not an hour from Spring unless you're driving in rush hour traffic.

Blackwood is in Conroe and is probably closer. I have been to both, but live closer to West Side

It's a completely different company and crew.

I shot out there 2-3 times a month, until I lost all of my guns in a boating accident.

The shooting range is safe.....it is the parking lot that is a warzone.

So is Hot Wells open again?

I remember hearing that Towne Lake had threatened them with a lawsuit back in 2022 that was a big part of them shutting down. (it needed new management/safety/clean up/facilities)
