Can get 10.3 cents /KWh for 4 months (Currently at 15.8 cents. When I take into consideration the cancellation fee I save money, but will February be a god time for rates.

Alternatively can get 12.3 for 12 or 24 months and punt down the road awhile.

What say TexAgs on the future of rates.

ERCOT summer wholesale prices were disappointing. Solar power is now saturating summer afternoon hours holding down price blowouts (which now have a narrow window in the summer evenings).

But I think centerpoint just increased the T&D charge from 4 cents and change to 5 cents and change.

So end of day I'd probably just lock in the 12 cents for 24 months, I don't know how much lower it can go than that.

Makes me LOVE my 10.7 all in rate I got for 3 years back in March/April.

I had to sign a stupid 15.8 cent, 3 YEAR contract earlier before summer. I just switched to a 9 month 10.7 cent plan and ate the $250 fee. It'll repay itself in like 6 months, so net positive.

I anticipate this cycle to be pretty consistent with prices. I did a string of 3 month contracts a couple years ago. Had a lady on the phone tell me I can't keep doing that and then tried to get me to sign a 24 month contract, which I laughed at.

I can see why people go with Ogre or Thigbe to not have to deal with this, but it's not too much work to manage.

I believe centerpoint T&D delivery charges increased by 1.4 cents effective the next billing cycle and moving forward, so you'd be at 12.1 for the rest of the term.

So roughly in line with offer above, which I would definitely lock in.

Edit: And yes, before anyone asks, the timing and optics of raising their delivery charges by 40% is comically bad for Centerpoint.

The 10.6 and 12.3 include the new increased delivery charge. The 12.2 is definitely better than 15.6+, but the 10.6 is even better if rates stay down at the end of the months

Actually just the opposite. You put in higher transmission costs as customer usage drops so customers don't notice an increase in price because their bill will be lower

I'm guessing their delivery rates are subject to change regardless of signed contract?

Except CenterPoint is kind of in the spotlight for ****ting the bed....multiple times.

Normally, I'd agree. But with recent events I assume social media and local news outlets will be all over this.
