I know it's in the 'burbs and not in Houston proper, but exiting the parking lot at Smart Centre in Sugar Land is an exercise in frustration. Does anyone have any insider tips for getting out of there in a reasonable amount of time?

I've been to about 10 concerts there over the years and have never gotten out of the parking lot in less than 40 minutes, which seems ridiculous for a venue that seats 6500 people max. If anyone has any insight (other than not going to a concert) on how to game the system it would be greatly appreciated. I've got tickets to 2 more shows there in the next couple of months so I'm trying to figure this out in advance.

Rosenberg resident here. I've been to ~5 shows at Smart. I highly recommend crossing over the Brazos and parking at Brick Tavern / Saltgrass and getting a bite & drink before the show and Uber-ing over. The rideshare lines drop you off right at the front.

Let me guess, you're planning to see Jhayco and Chyno Y Nacho in November?

I'm also a 'berg resident. We parked and ate at La Tapatia in the shopping center across 59 once, but due to the short trip we had a hard time getting an Uber who wanted to pick us up. Maybe being a little further down like you mention at Brick House will be a better option.

Will definitely give this a try. Thanks!

I guess there's less traffic when you use the helipad in the back?

It can be hit or miss. Was there a couple weeks ago and we couldn't even pull out of our parking spot for about 45 mins.

Park in the neighborhood in Lexington Meadow and walk over. 15 minute walk over the bridge on Lexington.

Either speed walk out of there as soon as the concert ends or be prepared to chill in your car till the backup clears.

Psh. His gleaming alloy air car doesn't need a helipad.

When leaving concerts, I follow my approach to leaving Aggie football games: Leave early so I don't have to waste my time with people who place zero importance on their own time.

I see there's a community pool just past the bridge. That might be a good alternative.

Yep, or park in the parking lot outside of Walgreens/Kroger on Swee****er if you really don't want to risk it and are okay walking a few more minutes.
