Can anyone here confirm existence of mountain bike or dirt bike trails in Addicks reservoir? West side of Eldridge.

I've seen cars parked on the side of the road and some hiking website shows trails. I'm looking for a close place to take my son and his 50cc.

Thanks!

i recall trails there kinda parallel to the paved bike trail, but it was before Harvey last i rode that way. Harvey might have washed everything away?

There are trails on the south side of the bayou from Eldridge all the way to kirkwood. Eldridge to Dairy Ashford is pretty open and nothing super technical. Dairy Ashford has way more windy trails and jumps. Pretty easy parking at dairy ashford just south of the bayou with easy access to both sides.

There's also the dirt jump section hidden in the woods just SE of where Wilcrest crossed the bayou.

My understanding is Motor bikes are not legal for Terry Hershey but you do see some out there. Search for anthills and then all along the south of the bayou from Eldridge to Wilcrest.

IIRC, those are called the Ant Hills. I used to ride them when I lived over there shortly after moving to Houston. I'm not certain they are still there as I think there was some kind of project that was going to take the land.

Definitely not inside the Addicks Reservoir though.

What do you mean? Thats just about as inside the Addicks Reservoir as you can get. Thats right next to Mayde Creek which is the outflow of the reservoir.

Anthills are South of 10 along Buffalo Bayou. This is in the middle of the reservoir North of 10.

Sounds like you know what I'm asking - are these actual trails? Trails we can buzz around on?

FEEEERRRRRKKKKK!!!!!

I was reading that map wrong. I was thinking that was Eldridge south of I-10 headed towards Briar Forest, and with that, also swapped Barker for Addicks.

In other words, I completely ****ed up!!

I have no idea if those are actually trails. Looking at google maps' satelite view I just see tree cover. My best guess is that is a path that could be taken when its dry but its probably covered in debris from whenever that area floods which it did during the early part of summer and its not upkept or maintained by the Army Corps of Engineers. You'll more than likely be weaving around trees, downed branches and stumps, and the random mud patch which you might sink into if you're not watching where you're walking.
