Wife wants to go to Houston and do some shopping. She like The Heights and Montrose areas and I was wondering if there are any other areas like those. Would also like to know if there are any good restaurants in those areas. TIA!

Apparently Memorial City Mall is equivalent to the Bronx. You can get a glimpse of NY walking around there.

How does your wife feel about Ferris wheels? Cause if you're looking for something to do after all your shopping, you're in luck…

Don't sleep on some excellent indian/pakistani food nearby in that area.

Trading Fair for yuppies?

*I've wondered about that place a few times when I've gone to Voodoo Queen, but never seen anything going on there after dark or on weekends when I've been over there.

I kind of feel bad for the OP now.

OP, Martin Q Blank was the only one who gave you a semi-serious reply. Check out Rice Village on Google maps to see if anything piques your interest; or maybe River Oaks shopping center to just walk around, eat and catch a movie at the restored River Oaks movie theater.

It's been a long time since I've walked the shops along Westheimer east of Montrose. Back in the day I dated a gal that loved to go antiquing. There were lots of eclectic shops in that stretch and some cool little places to eat.

Time and COVID might have wrecked that whole scene.

If you ever get the itch to go antiquing again, I think downtown Rosenberg answered my question of where all the antique stores went when the Heights and Montrose got regentrified.

Beg your ****ing pardon, good sir. If one doesn't enjoy a good ride on a Ferris wheel, then one has a difficult time finding good quality entertainment. So sit right there atop your high horse and judge the posts of others. Go hang out at the Christmas Store or Miller's Outpost.

I say, good night, sir, good night!

We had the in-laws in town for Christmas and we ended up going there this past Sunday. Was fantastic! It has probably been more than 20 years since I last went there.

Ended up running into my old boss when I used to work in The Woodlands as a teenager and first couple of years at A&M. Hadn't seen him in over 30 years! Great guy.

If anyone goes to Old Town Spring, be sure to hit up https://simplytx.com/ store there. Great sauces, hot and other kinds.

Great music store that if you are into vinyl, they had a very good collection. Wuensche Brothers did not disappoint.
