We make fun of Altimas with either no plates or paper plates. But then why do I sometimes see Teslas with no rear plates, or even a paper tag hanging in the rear window. I know they don't have front plates by design.

Why do i see Teslas with no rear plates?

Often they do have them in the rear window, but it is a very common occurrence for them to have no plates at all.
does it matter in Houston doesn't seem like police give a ****, I saw a paper plate on a beat-up car had 2023 for the year, it's really mad max on the freeways in Houston.
Pretty sure they all come w/ the temp tag taped to the back window with some super Godzilla-strength gorilla tape on delivery. At least that's how mine came.

Idk man, half the time it's why are Teslas driving like bmw drivers, half the time it's why are they driving efficiently and slow.

Since Tesla doesn't have traditional dealers, new ones can't get the standard 60 day temp tags that other cars get from the dealer. So they get the 30 day tags, for which the rear window is the correct placement.lancevance said:

If a used Tesla were to be sold by a used car dealer, then it would have a standard 60 day temp tag.
