Some places will just cut costs sometimes in order to maintain their prices.

I was at a different, but old local TexMex place for the first time in years, and was just saddened by their cheese enchiladas. Seemed like they had gone to powder based instant cheese or something. And this was at a place where we had been going since we were little kids. My friend said the place had some flood damage in Harvey, and hadn't really been the same since.

You better not be talking about Los Tios.

Los Tios has not only maintained quality but actually gotten better over the decades.

I still like SF. Maybe it's just nostalgia because I always liked it. Still go at least a few times a year. But an El Jefe from El Patio still rules, **** what anyone else says

In response to the April 13 complaint about the Greater Heights location, she said the restaurant only charges when customers abuse the free chips and salsa policy.

Canadians? Do they also order water with 15 lemons?

As if the Lice Landlords don't do the same. Lol

Not a dump, and wasn't there when we were growing up. Think it was Champ's coffee shop or something.

Not a dump, correct. And yes, it was Champ's when we were youngins. They had those giant chocolate chip smiley-face pancakes that kicked ****ing ass. Think El Ranchero has held on longer than anything else since Champ's left.

Heard they never stopped cooking, even when the kitchen had several feet of water.

How were there people in the restaurant if the kitchen had several feet of water in it?

Fair point. The story was they waited for the water to subside and kept serving. Pretty nasty in either case.
