So Annise has been spending her post mayoral years leading an alphabet+ group PAC?

Does she really believe in pushing "fringe" candidates or did she just stumble upon a very lucrative niche grift?

More power to her for making money opposing the white male patriarchy by pushing mentally ill loons or low IQ cretins with no impulse control. Will she push this kind of nonsense upon practical matters like running county offices? Probably.

Sure, but maybe Ed should've gotten over his butthurt about the astrodome referendum. After all, he was supposed to work for the voters, not the other way around. I think there's plenty of blame to go around.

Jimmy Barrett had Anise Porker on his show this morning, 740 KTRH, and Porker sounded very disjointed. It seemed as if she had no real campaign slogan or plan.

And it wasn't as if Jimmy was hostile to her or tried to throw her off. He didn't he asked very generic, neutral questions to her, and she just didn't have it together enough to respond with a complete idea.

I dunno. Maybe she just needed some coffee and another honey bun.

This.

Voters (more than once IIRC) made it clear that they wanted the Dome demo'd and any idea of turning it into whatever Ed was jacking off over and was probably looking to make a crap ton of money off of wasn't in the cards.

He threw a fit, voters told him to pound sand. Dumbness all around.

To be fair, I think they eventually dropped the subpoenas. It was also probably one of the more unifying things thats happened houston, besides Harvey, because every church was pretty heated about the whole thing, regardless of race or denomination.

I'd trust Parker, a seasoned adminstrator (albeit one I don't agree with mostly) during an emergency event a hell of a lot more than the woman that has to go the looney bin because someone said mean things to her.

No argument there at all. No fan of hers either. It at least appeared she began getting her **** together at the end of her term and was calling out the lawlessness the courts were creating with the revolving door of PR bonds.

It always was, it was in her budget. The ordeal and vote was because she wanted to take her whole entourage.
If you haven't watched the video of her making the plea for the additional $ its definitely worth a watch

I didn't do straight ticket. That was the last election where I lived in Harris County and I voted for Ed over Lina. I may lean left but no way in hell was I voting for someone with zero job experience to run a county with a population larger than half of the states.

like i mentioned before, I watched the last commissioner's hearing. it is incredible. incredibly painful just to listen to her. then throw in the fact that she scheduled a therapy session in the middle of the hearing.

Apparently the "big name" who plans to join the race in July is Council member Letitia Plummer. This is the seat Parker's son is planning to run for.
