After reading the Metallica thread, I'm curious how to go about getting Blue Lot parking passes for Morgan Wallen this weekend. Barring that, any other suggestions for parking? Are the cash lots on Main that are open for Texans games also open for concerts?

Keep checking the NRG park website. They don't have anything listed yet, but they didn't put up the Metallica passes until middle of the week.

FYI. They posted blue lot passes on just park for $70. Accessed through NRG site.

Try to find covered parking so you don't get hit with any chairs.

SpotHero will help you look at nearby garages and lots.

Like $40ish instead of $70ish.

For Metallica I parked in a surface parking lot near the Circle K on Knight at Holly Hall. Cost $25 and (bonus!) my wife's Infinity was still there after the show.

If only they would tear down the Dome, we could all park there.

Maybe they should put it up for a vote to gauge public opinion?

I used SpotHero for an Astros playoff game in October and my truck got broken into. I know the two situations are mutually exclusive- using SpotHero had nothing to do with the break in, but it left a bad taste in my mouth because the lot was unmonitored and looking back I felt like it I was a sitting duck due to lack of security and a full lot of vehicles obviously there for an event that would take several hours. Not saying the NRG staff is intimidating, but at least there is some monitoring.

I remember heading about a lot of break ins during the playoffs, especially trucks as they were looking for guns.

Anyone w/ Come n Take it, NRA, blue flag, Don't Tread on Me, American flag with "Freedom Isn't Free", I Stand for the Flag, We the People, Protected by Smith & Wesson, Trump/MAGA, Drain the Swamp, FJB/Let's Go Brandon, God, Guns & Trump, Jesus Is My Savior, Trump Is My President, etc was a target.

Well I fooled them. All they got was a backpack with a college algebra instructor edition textbook in it. Probably dumped within a few feet from where I was parked due to being of no value to a likely illiterate criminal. But was still a major inconvenience and I lost a good backpack...

I know that feeling.

I used a garage spot at the TMC transit stop, but it was unmonitored as you said.

That was an entertaining show. The opener Corey Kent was new to me but has a good sound. Koe Wetzel I can do without. His music all sounds exactly the same. I used to not understand how people can say that about a musician but it's 100% the case for me when I hear KW. Morgan Wallen was entertaining as heck too. Not as much of a musician as he is a performer but it was fun.

Now I'll surely rile up some here but that concert was better than Metallica. The sound was better infinitely better, I think this was the real issue for me aside from the boring setlist. The energy was there (young performers vs old dudes). The classic arena stage at one end of the venue was better than the stupid circle and lantern screen set up. Chicks were way hotter for sure.

TLDR: Metallica is a top two or three favorite band for me but Morgan Wallen was a better overall show.

For those that are going tonight, buy VIP parking online in the blue lot for the extra $20. We were out of there in minutes last night, easiest exit from a concert or event at NRG I have ever had. Well worth it.

Is the South Fannin Metro lot open and running? I always park there and ride metro for rodeo.

Had floor last year in Dallas and it was fun, had 300's last night and enjoyed it a little more. You can see more of everything that is going on.

How was Metallicas setlist boring?

I am not a country fan. That being said, I at least know the names of a lot of country artists.

Morgan Wallen is a name I first heard maybe two years ago. Now he's headlining multiple nights at NRG?

Congrats to him. He's doing things right.

He's been around for a while, one of the biggest names in country right now.

I'm an old who should not like Morgan Wallen, but I find a lot of his music is pretty good. I have some of his stuff downloaded.

Got tickets tonight. Can you share what time acts came on. I'm hearing Morgan didn't come out until 9pm. Is that accurate?

Dropped the kid off at camp last Sunday, and the Buc-ee's was full of people in Metallica shirts. Picked him up this morning and it was full of people in Morgan Wallen shirts.

It's after the fact, but this advice was gold. I bought mine the day they went on sale not realizing how good a decision it was. If the option exists, it's the only way I'll park at NRG moving forward.

As for the show, I only went because my daughter is a huge MW fan. Totally unfamiliar with any of the acts other than by name. We had 500 level seats so admittedly pretty far from the stage. I thought it was a typical stadium show. Terrible acoustics, somewhat stale environment, and a ton of people which brings along its own situations. The talent on hand walking around was spectacular and surprisingly diverse. As a person not really a fan of the genre of bro-country, I thought the show was meh. Daughter is a huge fan and she said it was awesome- second only to Taylor Swift who she saw last year.

Sounds like a good reason not to go to Buc-ee's.
