Pretty good show about eyewitness accounts of natural disasters and features a lot of cell phone and closed circuit video. Season 2 is out now and episode 1 is about last years derecho.

No, he didn't make the cut. A lot of the Houston focus is on the people downtown in Wells Fargo plaza. They also feature a family in Hawley (outside Abilene) and a guy in Temple that made it through tornadoes that day. The family in Hawley story is pretty good and how they were saved by a random storm chaser.

What annoyed me about that is they used weather from all of May and made it seem like it was one storm on one day. Hawley tornado was a couple weeks before the derecho if it was May 2.

Theres a line of storms coming today that looks like that big arc return from a derecho to untrained eyes. I havent seen any wind warnings yet though so hopefully just thunderstorm line

Don't have to get HBOMax to see it, it is showing on Discovery as well. Good show that pulls together a lot of the scattered viral videos from extreme weather events and tells the story behind them.

I think the last of his brain cells were left near that underpass

Watched it this evening and while interesting it's very confusing.

They suck on directions, locations, and timing. As referenced, they make it sound like it's all in the same day when it's four different days in May.

They had Temple as being Northeast of Houston.

They also made it sound like Valley View is near Temple when it's north of Denton.

It felt like AI created the thing with some personal interviews and footage.

Decided not to watch any more.

So am I the only one that watches these shows and ends up shouting at people to get away from the windows when they are filming the debris getting slung across their back deck by a tornado?

I'm watching it, wondering why they (the Hawley family) didn't drive away from it? They had time to get away.
