Family is looking to get an old roof replaced in the clear lake area. Wondering if any Ags have businesses in that area, or recommendations for one. They've got a couple estimates already, but trying to see if anything better around.

Bay Area Roofers did mine back in '24. I was pretty pleased with their work.

Why do you say that? I keep tabs on many companies that are actually crooks but they aren't one that I've ever heard such a thing over. Did they do something criminal or do you just mean the colloquialism for "felt his price too high?".

I paid Scooter $50k to put a standing seam metal roof on my house and his crew was ***** They did ****ty work. They did no ridge venting which the whirlwind system called for. Scooter refused to fixit. It eventually leaked and I had to spend $35k to put an asphalt shingle roof on. I should have sued his ass but my wife is a lawyer and advised against it. I have talked to him and sent him letters. He is a crook!

My work with Braun and other projects they have done for friends were all composition shingle residential work. The crews on these projects did a good job and no issues with their office.

I have Braun's roofing coming out next week. After seeing these reviews I started doing a little more research and it sounds like Braun's can be hit or miss...yikes.

I'll keep getting more bids. thanks for the honest feedback.

My in-laws and a friend used Braun Roofing, due to the Aggie connection, and had a bad experience with the workmanship.

just wanted to follow up. I decided to go with Braun's after all. My roof job is getting completed today. I stayed around and kept a close eye on things. These guys did a really good job. They even found some small pieces of wood rot around the back of the chimney that I never saw previously. They fixed that for me at no extra cost. I'll keep an eye on things with the upcoming rain but so far so good with these guys. I'm pretty happy with the work I've seen from their crew.
