Driving home last night heading towards Porter. Cars bouncing off the newly pressured washed concrete barries. Gave me a good laugh I needed.
In English, we say.
"I wish to be a child again."
But in poetry, we say.

LA truly is effing insane. I will give props to San Diego though. We visited and explored most of the city recently and I am sure there are encampments, like there are in any major city...and we saw the occasional stray bum walking around...but I was pleasantly surprised with the lack of homelessness and just the general quality of people out there. Very friendly place.
If it wasn't $800-900k to live in a tiny box, I'd move my family out there in a heartbeat. So much better than Houston in every way outside of cost of living imo. And maybe food.
I would probably rather live in a 700 SF house near coastal San Diego than a 10k SF mansion in Houston if it were strictly up to me tho. Amazing town if you are active and like the outdoors.

Ha only went there one day for a quick hike. Explored most of the city...and a large portion of downtown. Saw quite a bit of homelessness ther back in 2022 coming out of Covid, but nothing stood out this time around. Obviously they are always going to have some...if I was homeless, that is certainly where I could go. Even braindead bums know that SD is much more pleasant than Houston. SoCal will always have to fight homelessness in a way most other places won't, largely due to the amazing climate and temps that never get dangerous.
Maybe the have a section they put them in to keep them somewhat consolidated? I was expecting downtown to be much much worse but it was great.

We did see this for sure....especially in the parking lots of certain city parks. Part of me wondered how many of those are people who still have jobs, or are trying in life, but just can't afford to pay $2500/mo for a 300 SF apartment.
Could go back and forth all day, but after going to Los Angeles, the homelessness in SD doesn't even register.

Lol has that been a running thing from me? I honestly don't remember. I do know that I spend way too much time picking up downed branches now that we have a property with a ton of trees. One thing I never anticipated.
