Sorry guys, this may be a decent place to raise a family, and I'll agree that the weather is actually pretty good for 10 months out of the year but...

Gosh this is no place for young single people, unless you are into high-school kids, divorced 40-somethings, or loose tek girls

I came back b/c I had some health probs that required surgery and wanted to pay off some short-term debt in a place w a very low cost-of-living

Now it's time to move on. I have vowed to get a job downstate or going to grad school ASAP. Maybe I'll see you suckers in 10 years or so...oh don't worry, I'll pop in before I leave for real. I know my one post per month on this bored will be sorely missed!

Zoog-

Your post is a perfect example of why businesses here have such a hard time recruiting professional young people to jobs here. Young married folks love it, but there does not seem to be much of a young single professional crowd out there. You have folks in the service trades, making under 40K a year, and married folks making money, and tceh girls that you don't want to take home to mama.

This has been an issue for my employer for years, and hurts us when we have to go recruit in the metroplex, Austin, or elsewhere.

Leave, have fun, and after you get married and have kids, I bet we see you again.

There may not be time to do the job right, but there is always time to do the job over!!
