I don't think I ever saw a cockroach prior to my fish year at A&M. We just don't seem to have them in Oslo or in Gruver.

I'm just curious if anyone knows why? Are they common in other parts of the Panhandle?

Note: I'm curious, not complaining.

I don't remember having them growing up. I think the only time I ever saw them was when they hitched a ride in the packaging of inventory delivered at the lumber yard. Usually that was just 1 or 2.

try the outdoors board. Probably has something to do with the hard freezes. Maybe they get blown all the way to s. texas.

Don't they like moist areas? More likely to find those in more humid climates.

That's what I figured until I saw a random news story the other day about some restaurant in Santa Fe, New Mexico that was fogging the place because of a cockroach infestation when the fogger literally blew up.

The article said that cockroaches are a common problem in Santa Fe.

Killed a water cockroach this morning.

Growing up in Levelland, I saw a few cockroaches in my young life but not many.

While at A&M and dating the woman who would become my wife, we went down to her parent's house in Houston one weekend.

I went out into the garage and saw a cockroach on the floor. As I was sneaking up to stomp on it, the thing FLEW at me! Scared the crap outta me! I never knew there were flying cockroaches until that moment.

I HATE COCKROACHES!

when i lived in Lubbock, I never saw cockroaches. Now that I am in Austin, I see them quite often (once a week or so when we moved in) but they have started to die off since we spray our place .

When I lived in Dubai, they were around quite often, and it was humid beyond belief....so the humidity may have something to do with it
