The High Plains A&M Club invites all Aggies to a picnic to be held Saturday, August 2nd, 3:00 p.m. til ?? at the pavilion at Palo Duro Lake Park near Spearman. Please pass on this invitation to all your club members, students and prospective students, Aggie Moms, etc. All Aggies are invited!
Our club will furnish hotdogs, iced tea and lemonade, and all paper goods. Please ask those attending to bring lawn chairs, games if desired, chips or cookies to share, and lots of Aggie stories. Facilities at the park include a fishing pond, playground for children, horseshoe pits, and camping. So come out early and enjoy the day or spend the night if you wish. Entrance fees to the park are paid by our club. Overnight camping would require a fee.
Directions from Spearman: from the stoplight (there is only one!) in Spearman go north on Highway 15 toward Perryton for 5 miles. Turn left (west) onto County Road 28. Go 9.1 miles until you reach the damn. Turn right just prior to driving on to the dam. The pavilion is located in the park that is below the dam. (Note: County Road 28 will merge into County Road 3214 but stay on the pavement.)
If you have any questions, please call Mike Pack,'80 at 806 659 5190 (home), 806 664 0056 (cell), or 806 Johnette Jarvis,'70 at 806 878 2240 (home), 806 898 1872 (cell). We would very much appreciate a head count of those planning to attend so we could make sure we have enough food and drink for everyone. It is our desire for this to be an opportunity for Aggies of all ages from the Panhandle area to get together for fun and fellowship. WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE THIS A SUCCESS!
Thank you in advance for your help in passing this information on to all Aggies and we look forward to seeing you there!
