The High Plains A&M Club is hosting an Aggie Pheasant Hunt on December 13th and 14th, 2008. The hunt will be open to a party of no more than 10 hunters. The club will furnish lodging, all meals, and guided pheasant hunting. Hunters will be staying in a guest house owned by Aggies, will be cooked for by Aggies, hunt on land owned by Aggies, and guided by Aggies. Cost will be $650 per person. All proceeds will go toward establishing a scholarship for students attending A&M from the High Plains A&M Club area. A $200 non-refundable deposit will be required to guarantee a spot and the balance will be due upon arrival. Hunters will need to furnish their own transportation to the hunt site, gun and ammunition, and have a valid Texas hunting license. My younger brother has a group of hunters who comes out every year for opening weekend, but after that I don't think there is really much hunting.

Windmill have you had any hits yet? I noticed not much being said on the outdoors forum either. I have 40+ guys coming througout the season mostly Ags but I don't think any would pay the 650. Maybe a little too high?

We checked around with outfitters when doing the pricing and found that w/ room and board we are at a level that is less than others charge for like packages.
Think about it....2 days of hunting, two nights lodging w/ meals.
Tried to get a motel room in the area lately ?

Will we consider an ala carte package at a different rate ? Sure. What do you have in mind ?

Most of the donated land is in the Morse/Pringle area.
We already have a newly renovated bed & breakfast / house for the lodging.

We feel that the main issue is getting the word out to those who are interested...Second only to fielding actual inquries about the hunt.
