Haven't heard anything, but then I'm not exactly Mr. Plugged In.

As best I recall, the last time a famous (or even semi-famous) actor moved to Amarillo was when Peter Breck showed up in the late 1970s. He taught some drama classes at WTSU, did some TV ads for one of the local banks, and maybe did some dinner theater gigs ...

Terry Funk used to live out on a place north of WT between I-27 and the RR tracks, but I believe he sold it. Amarillo Slim is a celebrity of sorts. And Spanky Assiter (Barrett-Jackson auctioneer) lives here, but that's about the best we can do.

Amarillo vs. Austin...I doubt it

imdb.com lists his birthplace as Hereford, but I could have sworn that Pampa claimed him as a resident, too.

Ron Ely was born in Hereford but moved to Amarillo. He graduated from AHS in 1956.

I am originally from the Amarillo area and have heard about some of the same rumblings from some residents.

I know that he's been to Amarillo several times. Who knows, maybe he just wants a ranch out there or something.

she said that Amarillo was rated - #1 place to raise a family in Texas and that was Matt's selling point. i knew it was rated highly in teenage pregnancies but i haven't heard this.
