How long do you want to ignore this user?
its been a long time since i lived there, but lubbock water is so horrible, i can't even drink tea at restaurants.
my question is in a fridge with an ice maker and water dispenser do you have to get a filter? does the water come out like lubbock water, or is it drinkable without a filter system?

If you get a filter, it will quickly be filled with scale. Filters in Lubbock require constant maintenance to the point of not being worth the trouble IMO.

Get a reverse osmosis filter from sam's for about $149. Does a tremendous job and a relatively low cost.

buy drinking (and cooking) water by the 5-gal jug and use a hot/cold dispenser and save yourself all sorts of grief...
