My wife and I are looking for a clean but fairly cheaper rental on the south side of Lubbock. Something in the $800 to $1000 a month range.

What are the best subdivisions to look in?

And does anyone have any good sources for finding properties?

TIA

Hey there, we just recently rented a house on the SW side of Lubbock, off Frankford and 82nd. There seem to be several rental houses and duplexes in the area and I'd bet they are in your price range. We found a decent 3/2/2 in the mid 800s, so it's definitely doable.

I'd suggest doing a web search for "Lubbock property managers" or something like that -- that's how we found folks to talk to. The paper wasn't much help, but we talked to leasing agents from FirstMark, WestMark, Castle Properties and John Nelson, which is who we rented from.

Hope that helps. Good luck!

Yeah, I would definitely call Westmark, Firstmark, and Century 21. My girlfriend is trying to find one right now too for her and her roommate. I don't know how far out you are looking, but there is one that looked great on 62nd street, just east of slide. I believe the address was 5016 62nd street, and is being rented by Century 21. They said the rent was $975, and that was more than my girlfriend wanted.
