I definitely remember Dan True back in the 1960s, deftly wielding a Magic Marker to draw little funnel clouds and tornadoes on a paper map of the Panhandle during weather alerts. (This being in the days before fancy computer graphics and flamboyant weather personalities.) Dan True, with his flat-top haircut, good-natured toothy smile, and endless supply of ski sweaters. An all-around good guy.
KFDA used this dandy piece of music to introduce Dan and the weather segment on its nightly news, back in the 1960s:
