The T Boone Pickens Wind Farm has been scrapped.

Want your own wind turbine?

From http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Pickens-calls-off-massive-apf-2238040143.html?x=0&.v=7:
quote:
Plans for the world's largest wind farm in the Texas Panhandle have been scrapped, energy baron T. Boone Pickens said Tuesday, and he's looking for a home for 687 giant wind turbines.

Pickens has already ordered the turbines, which can stand 400 feet tall -- taller than most 30-story buildings.

...

He had hoped to complete the four-phase project in 2014 and eventually have 4,000 megawatts of capacity, enough to power more than one million homes. The total cost was expected to approach $12 billion.
I'd rather he kept the wind farm and got rid of his plan to take water from here to Dallas.

Is it wrong if I hope he takes a bath on every one of those turbines?

The turbine market is completely saturated at this point. In addition, low natural gas prices are making it difficult for wind to compete right now, even with all the stimulus being thrown at the industry. He is going to take a huge haircut on those turbines to unload them.

Don't worry - Obama will give him a $12B bailout. Problem is he'll have to fire him as CEO!
