Any road reports this morning (24th?)?

Hockley County is drivable on all major highways as far as I know. I was on S 385 today and it was just dust & crust and we had no trouble.

Worst hazard out there is probably poor visibility due to blowing snow from the ground. If you drive by a field that's been shredded it gets interesting.

287 was a mess from Electra to WF - that's where my family finally gave in & stopped.

Still a mess in that area...Uncle and cousins have moved 3 miles in 14 hours.

Decided not to try 287 (coming up from Coppell) and looks as if that was the right decision. Unfortunately, choice #2 was the wrong one also. Decided to take the "south route" (headed to Angel Fire) and go to Abilene on I-20 and on west before turning back north. Did that because the weather was indicating the system would lift north and east. It didn't. I-20 was a disaster. Took 8 1/2 hours to get to Abilene, and only made it that far because we cut south out of Cisco and found enough roads open to get to Abilene (and my son's apartment). Took over two hours from Cisco, but worked okay. I-20 closed from Abilene to (eventually)Eastland last night, still closed eastbound out of Abilene this morning. Supposedly first time in 32 years it's been closed. About 200 cars stranded between Baird and Putnam.

6.5 hours from grand prairie to wf...bowie and 9 miles south of wf on 287 was turrible!

Any updates today on 287 from Childress to Ft. Worth?

I am not sure if I should try 287 to Ft. Worth, or just take 83 down to I-20 and go into Ft. Worth on I-20....???

If anyone has any updates, I will be getting to Childress in 3 hours or so and will check this thread again for any possible updates from those in the know.
