Diharder,
My Mom lives right across the road (Hwy 3) from the Red Barn. My niece waitresses there when she is home from school. I've only eaten there when I was really hungry, but it was damn good.

Yeah it is pretty good, the Brady's used to own in back in the day and every Thursday night they had mexican food. The best times of my life were when I was a kid and for someone's birthday we would load up and actually drive from Perryton to there to eat (only 15 minutes but when you are little it feels like forever) on a school night... the little things in life I guess

Wow. I can tell you've been there more than once.

I was gonna mention Mexican food night (although I thought it was Tuesday) because my Mom & nieces (who she raised) would eat there every week on Mexican Food night.
My brother was still in school when my parents moved there. He played basketball for Balko HS, & when I would come visit we could just go get the key to the gym & go shoot around. One of the Brady kids used to go with us sometimes, but for the life of me I can't remember his first name. I do remember that he was short, & had red hair. When the Bradys sold the place it stayed closed for a while, & when it re-opened Mom said it was good, but not quite as good as when Mrs Brady was cooking.

BTW, did you see the UIL realignment yesterday?
Pampa (MY home town)dropped to 3A! I am still in shock, but 1-3A is now a 4 school district including Pampa, Perryton, Borger & Dalhart.

Yeah I did see that this morning in the paper. Crazy how all the small towns are on the down slope. For some reason Perryton has stayed strong. I don't know if it is because of the pigs, oil, etc. I know the petrolium plant closing hurt pampa recently.

I kind of figure Bushland will move up to 3A in the next few years. When I was there it was:

Perryton, Dalhart, Fritch, River Road, Childress, Dimmit, and Tulia.

It is hard to believe Perryton and Dalhart are the only ones still in 3A.

I also had some friends that went to Balko. It was awesome being able to just go up and play basketball or swimming!

I'm from Gruver and pretty much the only reason we ever go to guymon is because they have the closest decent movie theater. The food there isnt bad i guess, but the hog industry has brought in some pretty sketchy people. About the whole sutphen's screwup in gruver, what/when was that? Like i said im from gruver, but havnt heard about that one...

Bank of the Panhandle is a fine institution. They have a good banker by the name of Desbien there.
