For those of you who live in Wichita Falls, Greg King, Class of '88, is running for judge in County Court #2.

Greg and I have been friends since we both moved in to Davis-Gary in the fall of 1984. Greg went on to the law school at UT. He worked as a prosecuter in Wichita Falls for seven years, primarily trying felony drug and child abuse cases with great success.

quote:
"Greg is a great friend to law enforcement... a hard-working prosecutor who went after drug dealers and child molesters with a vengeance.”
Ken Coughlin, former Wichita Falls Chief of Police

Greg's been in private practice for the past seven years to some acclaim - having been named "Wichita Falls Attorney of the Year" a couple of times by the local newspaper (I will try and find a link for this - it's hard to dig up info from Katy).

Greg King is a very good guy and a very good Ag who could use your support. He's far and away the most qualified for the job - to my understanding, his primary opponent has been out of law school less than four years and has no trial experience.

Vote for Greg King in Republican Primary on March 2, 2010.

Though he probably can't use this on his posters:
quote:
"Well before his formal legal education, candidate Greg King successfully talked me out of committing a felony in the State of North Carolina." —DamnGood'88, former Texags poster

I'm going to post this over on Politics too.

For good measure:

The guy Greg is running against has no real business running for judge at this point in his career.

The deciding factor for me was who's hotter...and Greg King wins that contest by a mile.

Greg is an old friend and I can promise he will make a great Judge.

And besides that he is an old DG fighter.

Looks like he came in first, but didn't get enough to avoid the runoff. D'oh.

Greg moved the numbers in his direction as he was able to get on TV in the last week of the campaign (his election day numbers were better than early voting). Not sure either side has any money left, but with no governors race on the runoff ballot, it's anybody's ball game. If Greg can raise the money to do some more advertising, he will probably be in good shape.

And he won the runoff election.

Thanks to anyone who voted for him - and vote again come November.

As the old saying goes, as long as Greg isn't caught in bed with a dead girl or a live boy, he should be in like flint. Democratic officeholders are an endagered species in Wichita County. I expect Greg to win the general election comfortably.
