What is most important to your child? Does he want to go to A&M or be on a National Championship caliber Judging Team. And then go to A&M after 2 years.

I have no idea about now, but back in the day some of the best professors I had were at Clarendon College. I spent a semester there and several summers. And there have been 4 generations of my family who have attended. My Grandfather was on the Board for 12 years.

So I am a little biased. But from what I hear from home, it is still a great place for an education.

My dad went to Clarendon College and transferred into A&M back in the 80's and makes very, very good money.

Great judging program there. The nice thing is he could judge there at the junior college level then transfer to A&M or another 4-year school and judge senior college judging. Best of luck to him whatever he decides. I judged as an undergrad (not at A&M) and it was the best thing I did. It opened a lot of doors (partly the reason I went to grad school at A&M).

I was going to tell you that your kid might not like the isolation of the eastern panhandle. But according to your profile, you're from Mentone. So Clarendon will feel like the big city to him!

I went to Clarendon for 1 year on a baseball scholarship, then transfered to WT. I am from Amarillo, being that close to home made it nice, but overall I loved my time at C.C.

He ended up taking a Scholarship at South Plains for judging and loves the area. Postponed admittance to Aggieland but still planning on joining his brother next year.

South Plains Alumni here (great community college!!) then transferred to A&M to get my bachelors!

Clarendon College grad here! Got my license in nursing there.

Good judging program.

Academics = 13th grade.

Worth it if you BS at TAMU.
