When I was looking for my mom's house, I called a couple of different ones and settled on 1st Alarm

They seemed most reasonable, affordable, etc. She bought her system outright, and pays a monthly monitoring rate. She lives in the country, and it connects via cellular. The interior sensors are also wireless, so no need to run wires in the house.
