I've never driven through the panhandle but are there any kroger owned gas stations up there? I'm just trying to plot a route for a road trip this summer and looking to use the kroger fuel points. I know once I hit Colorado there are some but between Fort Worth and Colorado I cant seem to find anything on Google.

Can't help on gas, will recommend that you drive over Johnson Mesa between Clayton and Raton.
