Texas Tech School of Veterinary Medicine Earns Full Accreditation

Quote:

In May 2025, the school graduated its first class with 97% passing the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE) and 95% entering veterinary practices serving rural and regional communities.

If that is in fact true, and these new vets are serving rural communities, then I am happy that this has happened.

I would like to see a breakdown of what exactly a "regional community" is, and how many of these vets are serving them.
The most likely answer is that a "regional community" is a suburb, and these vets are serving cats and dogs (which is more lucrative but isn't truly helping address the state's vet shortage).

A large portion of them did in fact go to work in the suburbs right out of school. Wife is a vet in Hansford county, and they have them come through on rotation. Thankfully there is tons of money incentivizing work in these small rural clinics. Jury is still out on if the tech school will produce more rural doctors.
