Where's PF Chang's going to be? And does anyone know if there are any plans for all the open land on 4th & Milwaukee next to the random Applebee's? I wouldn't think they would put one pretty much out in a cotton field unless there were plans to further develop that part of town.

Don't quote me on this since I read it in the paper several Sundays ago, but the PF CHangs will be in the same shopping center as Fox & Hound on 82nd Street.

I think it is a Pei Wei, which is owned by P.F. Chang's - not an actual P.F. Chang's. Either way it will be good.

I thought the PF Changs/Pei Wei was going to be in that new mall on Milwaukee and Spur 327.

They shut down the Chinese place that used to be down from Fox & Hound. Rumor is Pei Wei is going in there.

As one who had some involvement on the real estate end of both deals, I can tell you that Freebirds is going next to Old Navy, behind Hooter's. They should be open in April. Pei Wei (not P.F. Chang's) will be in Kingsgate North, probably sometime this summer. They are not going in the spot where Summer Palace was, but rather towards the other end near DayBreak Coffee.

I used to work for them for almost 9 years. When I left in August, I was Director of Operations.

I still keep in very good contact with several people at the store and corporate level. Too many good friends to leave behind...and of course, I get all the good info, too!

Last I heard (this past MOnday), Lubbock was possibly ahead of schedule.

Well?... who's tried it?

Ate there today. It was definitely nice to have Freebird's again. It's the kind of thing my stomach can only take once every few weeks, but it's comforting just knowing it's there when i do want it. One complaint though - out of all the employees, only about 2 looked like your standard Freebird's people. The rest were completely normal. For some reason, a Freebird's burrito just doesn't taste quite the same if it wasn't prepared by someone with a lot of piercings and weird hair.

The place looks awesome! Also, the burritos are as good as I remember from back in the day.

Freebirds is good.

I agree that the servers did not have the expected dyed hair, piercings, and visible tats I was hoping for.

Didn't like the price jump, but that won't stop me from going.
