RING THE BELL: After leading West Texas A&M to the program’s first-ever NCAA Division II playoff appearance, senior quarterback Dalton Bell is touted to be one of the best players in the Lone Star Conference once again this season.
Bell, a native of Canyon, Texas, received LSC South Division Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, after leading the Buffaloes to their first 10-win season since 1950 and first conference championship since 1986. He completed 311-of-454 passes for a conference record 3,799 yards and 30 touchdowns. Bell threw for more than 200 yards in 10 games, including a season-high 543 yards against Angelo State.
The Buffaloes received a No. 11 preseason ranking from Street & Smith’s College Football Yearbook, and were picked to finish third in the LSC South Division by the league’s preseason poll.
