If you put off the research path until most of the other students have completed it, the books will almost automatically open to the right page after about 25-30 other students have opened them to that exact same page.

That's funny you say that, TechTard. I was at the library working on mine this weekend, and when I found the copy of Texas Jurisprudence that I needed for my research path, someone had been kind enough to leave a mechanical pencil marking the section that I needed.
