Killer K is right. As a friend of mine from San Antonio once commented about the greater West Texas, "it may not be the greatest place to visit, but it's sure a great place to live".
It's not Hawaii, California, or the Caribbean, but I've been to all those places, and for living all the time, I'd much rather be right here. The people just can't be beat.
As for the weather, it's great for the most part. But there are times when it's bitterly cold, so hot that the wind feels like a blast furnace, or the sand is blowing at 50 mph, and in those times, you feel like you've accomplished something just by living through the day. And I gotta be honest, sometimes that's a pretty cool feeling.
