my folks will be moving to Amarillo soon. Dad has a new job at Bell. They are looking for an area that will appreciate as they probably plan to move back home (Fort Worth) in the next 7 - 10 years. Looking for homes in the 500 - 700 range. Whats the best area for these parameters?

Falcon Club, Dove Landing, or La Paloma.

I just discovered the Tascosa CC/La Paloma area last week. Impressive.

DO NOT go to Falcon Club! The list of problems there is outrageous, starting with a federal drug indictment against the developer and ending with no accesible water.

Somehow, I think that if your parents are looking in the 500-700 range. They won't have a problem.

I agree with La Paloma, Tascosa....Colonies is the hot area now.

PLEASE don't believe anything about the drug ties to the Falcon Club developer....they are very close friends of mine and nothing could be farther from the truth.....they do have Santa Rosa water, just not as good as Ogallala.

My parents are building out at La Paloma. The area is definitely worth a look.

I love the Tascosa CC and La Paloma area, and have spent a lot of time out there because many of my friends live out there. Whenever I move back that is where I want to live. One of my good friend’s dad is on the board at Paloma and he says that things are going well out there. I also think that that both of those golf courses are great. I grew up the Wolflin area which is older homes but there are some beautiful new or remodeled ones there in that price range. Both of these areas would be better than the Colonies on the southwest side of town which would be a further drive to work.
