Amarillo is just the right size for me. It's big enough to have decent golf courses, an amusement park/fair, plenty of professional sports teams, and a few good concerts/civic events to go to every now and then. It is also small enough not to have huge problems with traffic, crime, and pollution. The biggest downside is the job market. It is very difficult to get started here with anything decent. Most people I know have had to move to a larger city out of college and then move back here after gaining several years of experience. I was fortunate enough to come back and work a few odd jobs until my career finally gets started this summer at a decent company with plenty of upward mobility.
