Why does everyone from Pampa rave about this place? The birsket tastes like it was cooked in a crock pot (probably actually is). And what is the deal with the Apricots?

We had my wife's HS reunion a while back and of course Dyer's catered one of the events and everyone ooed and ahed about how they missed it, and all I could think of was that the brisket was stewed in its own filth andnot smoked the way it should be.

I am forced to go there every time we visit town and dread it every time. I have tried to order the Catfish, but the last two trips they had run out of it.

As much as I love the Panhandle, we are not well know for our Bar-B-Que joints.

The Plantation between Naz and Tulia was good, but long since out of business.

And you are right, Dyer's is terrible.

The Cattle Exchange in Canadian is pretty good. I eat there every time I drive through Canadian. The ribs are excellent and the brisket is superb as well.
