...did the 6 mile lighthouse hike....not going to lie the heat of the day in july was probably not the best time to attempt it...but it was still really great and I loved it.

If you liked Palo Duro, then you should try Caprock Canyons State Park.

Hike in from the West. It is rather rough, but there are great views.

I 2nd the Lighthouse trail, great hike. If you have a GPS device, there are some hidden gps caches along the way too that you can try to find.

May I brag a bit here? My roommate at A&M, Dr. Geary McCauley (deceased in 1975), and I climbed Lighthouse Rock in 1960 as documented by pictures and story in the Globe-News, Sunday, April 17, 1960. We had tried climbing the Rock since we were 15 years old (and did it at age 20).
