Some they mention are here in Canyon, and I concur: Feldman's Wrong Way Diner and Pepito's.

Avoid the Big Texan at all costs.

I highly recommend Dyer's for the best bbq you'll ever eat. Zen 721 and Cafe Marizon in Downtown Amarillo are very good as well. And definitely go to Village Bakery if you can.

La Patrona likes the Japanese place on the West side of town. I can't remember the name right off-hand (Kabuki?), but it rains inside. Good food.

They have been in Amarillo for many years, this location is new and pretty cool. Not cheap, but the food is very good and it is one of those places where 8 people sit around a table and they grill stuff in front of you.

On the rare times we go there, we each order different things and share. I really like the shrimp and chicken, steak is good, too. Daughter always gets the salmon.

i like pizza planet. that's where i always stop to meet friends when i'm coming through.

I live in Amarillo. Lots to choose from. Mexican: Abuelos and Tacos Garcia and Leal's. Fast Mexican Rosa's (2 locations).
BBQ Dyers is good, and Cattle Call.
Steak: Outback and Hoffbrau

Been to Tacos Garcia a couple of times with the parents and it was great, every time.

I must be unlucky, because I've been twice and both times I almost puked. Maybe it's an ingredient or something they use.

I need to try Tacos Garcia. Can't believe nobody has mentioned Blue Sky yet.

Tried Tacos Garcia. Wasn't that impressed. Blue Sky remains my favorite.

had tacos garcia last night for the first time, overall it was solid, not spectacular, but I'll go there again, I'm sure.

Kabuki has good food, but if you're looking for a good, traditional hibachi show, don't waste your time or your money. It's pretty lame. I didn't think the food by itself was worth the price.

If you want real Mexican food (where actual Hispanics eat), try El Tejavan. Two locations, but the one close to Paramount is best. Unfortunately, they're closed on Sundays. Very inexpensive, too.

I think for BBQ, Desperado's is best, but Dyer's is good, too. On 10th, I think.

For Oriental buffet, Lin's Grand Buffet (I-40 and Soncy) can't be beat. They even have a Mongolian BBQ bar. The King and I (Bell off of I-40) is pretty good, too.

It has been a few years since I have been there. If Austin is still the owner, then it is safe for children and the steaks will be hand cut and really good.

If you are looking for a good non-chain sports bar, try Hummers on Paramount. Great Chicken Fry and twice baked potato.

Went to Blue Sky on Monday, it was ok. Best burger is in Claude.

Guess I will have to check out this place in Claude. I can't imagine a burger place being better than Blue Sky.

BL Bistro is very good, IMO. I plan on going back.

Please try out Basil Doc's if you want pizza. Very good stuff! They are located near the Pinkie's liqour store off of Civic which is just west of Georgia south of I-40. Check it out.

Best burger for me is a toss-up between Blue Sky and Hill's in Canyon. They both score high on the ooze factor.
