Jail inmates

This is pretty funny.

It seems that one twerp, out on bond, failed to show up for a court appearance. The county (not Hansford County) issued an arrest warrant for the twerp for failure to appear. The twerp learned of the arrest warrant and turned himself in with the intention of getting bailed out on it, too.

Here's the part I like. The judge ordered him confined without bond. So now he's in jail until however long it takes them to take him to trial.

I'm not sure what his original arrest was for. It was likely either some alochol reated problem (minor in possession?) or drug related.

For what it's worth, he's out on bail from another county in the Texas panhandle and a county in the Oklahoma panhandle. Since he's in jail, he's already missed one court appearance in another county in Texas and has an upcoming arraignment date this week in Oklahoma.

I guess it could be worse. Years ago, I ran into someone in Oklahoma a year after he graduated from high school. In that year, he'd spent 11 months in jail. And 30 minutes after we got through talking to him, the police arrested him again. I particularly liked his plea on the charges on that occasion: "Aw hell, judge, you know I'm guilty." Now, nearly thirty five years later, he's pretty respectible.

On the other hand, the twerp mentioned above never went back to school again once he was old enough that he didn't have to go back to school.
