As an Aggie, I know we like to take part in things that will help the community. I have the great opportunity to inform you of a situation where two area high schools, Sudan and Springlake-Earth, are competing (the spirit of competition makes everything more fun) to raise cancer awareness. They are selling t-shirts for $10 each that are color coded to specific types of cancer. The school that sales the most before October 31 will "pie" the other school's student council before the football game on November 2nd. I am a graduate of Sudan High School, so if you would like to buy a shirt, I ask that you e-mail Neil Kleman at nealkleman@sudanisd.net or call 806-638-0111 to order by phone. The colors are as follows:
Breast Cancer = Pink
Ovarian Cancer = Teal
Melanoma = Black
Cervical Cancer = White
Brain Cancer = Grey
Leukemia = orange
Colon Cancer = Dark Blue
Prostate Cancer = Blue
General Cancer = Lavender
I have researched the cancer t-shirt website and a high school student in Texas began this idea in 2006 and is currently selling shirts in 10 Texas High Schools. On the website it even says his older sister is a "Crazy Aggie". I say lets help these students out and support cancer awareness.
