I will be making the trip from Aggieland up to Abilene here in a couple of weeks. I will be traveling hwy 36 and was wondering what the speed traps are along the way.

Also if there is any good place to eat let me know!

Sometimes the whole way on 36 is a trap!

Starting with Rosebud Lott as the most famous speed trap that is consistantly there.

Be careful around Gatesville. I always see either Police or Sheriff patrol cars on the stretch outside Temple until Hwy 84.

Especially around the North Ft. Hood area south of Gatesville. People forget it's an active military base and the speed limit is 50 through there.

You have to be careful around Temple and once you get into Gatesville. It's hit or miss after that. The only good restaurant that I can think of is Storm's Hamburgers in Hamilton.

Be careful around Comanche as well. If you happen to be coming thru on Friday evening there's a great all you can eat catfish place between Comanche & Rising Star.

About 10 years ago I was pulled over after going down the giant hill on Highway 351 near Albany. I was going 69 in a 65.
