I know it's close to the border. Anyone have any information about it's safety these days? My friends and I were thinking about taking a trip down to the guadalupe river or gardner state park then making the trip over.

I guess your talking about crossing the border at Eagle Pass to go to Piedras Negras. Piedras Negras used to be a good little border town, kind of a mini-Acuna. I have not been back in years and sadly, don't plan on ever going back. It's just not worth it to me to risk get shot at by drug dealers. When we used to go over there we always ate dinner at Moderno's. It was pretty good food and a lot of fun. We never did anything in Eagle Pass except drive through it, quickly.

Modernos is closed. Might want to head over to Del Rio instead.

I live in Del Rio and would honestly suggest not crossing over into Acune these Days. First off it is dead over there. Second the violence is finding it's way to Acuna. There have been a couple shootouts, arsons, kidnapping and even one or two dimembered bodies found.
