A Brisket Torta at Martinez Bakery south of downtown in Midland. Its a $5 sandwich that is about 5-6" across. Fantastic taste with brisket, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce and avocados on their own special bread.

To find Martinez go down Big Spring turn east on Florida and probably less than 1 mile on the south side of the road. You have to go east of Main street.

My wife was introduced to it from a friend at MISD, and now we go there about once every week or so. They also carry all of the pastries from south of the border, but the torta is what we go for.

I prefer Tony's Bakery on Big Spring. The Aguilar family are good people. (shameless plug for my friends)

I will try Tony's and compare.
I will do this "sacrifice" for a good torta.

Thanks Loudest, my office is right down the street and I've never tried this place. That sandwich sounds great!

Glad to help out MA.

They also have a taco meal, 4 full sized tacos stuffed with hamburger, cheese, lettuce, tomato & avocado with limes to squeeze when you don't feel like a torta. Could feed 2 people probably unless you are hungry. But to not eat the torta is a rare occasion.
